The Ocean Within Me
A Poem
I am the ocean, divinity of waves
that wax and wane in moon’s presence.
The glistening shimmers of surface touch,
fluid and grounded in grains of sand,
o u t s t r e t c h e d hands
that long to travel the worlds untouched.
Pieces of awareness,
grappled in the world’s information,
the noise of a little too much knowledge
all -at-once.
A satellite with a loss of sight,
fighting to find my inner ear.
Fold into the tide,
follow the gravitational pull
of her feminine chest,
tuning into the rhythmic cycle
of her breast.
I am an introspection.
My switch ignites, twilight skies
honoring the vastness
of the darkness above me.
I’m neither scared nor tired
of the world’s vision of who I should be.
I let it go because I am present.
