My cousin attempted to take her life, she was found hanging from a tree in her high school grounds. The ambulance arrived just in time. She was in a coma for a long while, eventually came back to us (alive) but with a severe brain injury. Her mother (my aunt) passed on not long after.
We grieved my auntie's death and my cousin's former life.
My father left me when I was a small child, his replacement? violent and disturbed.
I now work in community services (mental health and disability) and hear stories of suffering everyday. I also hear how to turn water to wine and keep the fire going in the rain. How the deepest and darkest moments pass and the light brings relief.
Thank you for sharing your dark moments.
Keep thinking of the waves and the ocean, the beauty in the cracks. These things keep us going.
P.S - you're absolutely not alone
