It’s nearly 07:30 AM. I’m considering my third cup of coffee and a fourth cigarette for the morning. I have already scrolled Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook. Thrilling stuff.

I sit in the office of my little sister’s home. My partner and I have moved in temporarily while setting ourselves up here. For those of you that don’t know (welcome new readers if there are any out there!), I left Australia two and a half years ago to travel the world, solo. I quit my well paying, soul-sucking job, sold everything I owned and embarked on, what would be, the trip of a lifetime.

Countless countries, a volunteer gig in Cambodia, loads of memories, an endless flow of tears and laughter, a ridiculous amount of lost property, a new country, new life, new job, and a new relationship. Blah, blah! you get the point.

Well, here I am two and a half years later, reflecting, as it were.

It’s a peculiar thing to leave and come back, everyone wants to know “Oh my god, Jess, how was it, how have you been!?”.. I’m yet to find an adequate answer to that question. In my mind I think, how long do you have here? I could probably talk all day, yet, I kind
